sterilised; birth of a butterfly; bad news; if it can get up there, it can come down

MoMo, YuanYuan and FangFang are officially members of the tippies from today.

They just returned from the op and are very obviously in discomfort. Poor dears. I hope there will not be any complications for them.

The cocoon that had been hanging from the plastic mesh on the bottom right corner of our gate is now withered. The butterfly emerged this morning as I was locking the doors after hauling the 3 carriers out of the door. Its a black-white yellow specked fritillary (I think). I haven’t like moths and butterflies since Pri.2 when an entire swarm of them “attacked me” and left me with some minor scratches and really bad rash. But still we wish this one luck as its mom chose to build its cocoon hanging from our gate.

Yesterday, E told me really horrid news. A mother cat and her 2 kittens are deceased due to foul play at Pasir Ris St 21. She read it on the Berita Harian. You can see the short report here.

I hope the culprit will be found and severely punished for such an inhuman act. For now, the bunch will be kept a close watch on.

Last night, BDKat was found after 3-4 days of no-show. The B14 occupants alerted us of a cat stuck on their roof meowing piteously. I went over,  she was really CRYING. We stacked some chairs for her to have a platform to jump off on, but she wouldn’t jump down. SPCA said if she can get up there, she’ll be able to come down, and to get them only if she is still stuck 2 hours later.

The B14 occupants didn’t wait, one of them risked his neck, climbed up and grabbed her. She is now thankfully on level ground.

Kudos to people who are scared of cats/dogs but do all they can to help the distressed creatures they are terrified of. :P
